Blacktail Deer Plateau what doesn't kill you, right?

the woods was soothingly quiet today. the was no sound other than the light paw steps of the yearling. she wandered around mindlessly, enjoying the stillness of the world. the silence would be broken by an occasional hum or tongue click.

max was extremely bored. there was enough prey for the group, so she didn’t bother distracting herself by hunting. she killed some time by collecting herbs, but there wasn’t much of a variety here. now there was nothing left to do but hang out with her companions, so she sought them out. but something stopped her dead in her tracks. a smell that no wolf would ever be happy to run across. coyotes. and lots of em’. they em had to be dealt with before they caused some real trouble.

the girl picked up her pace and made sure to tred lightly. she’d give them the old element of surprise. new smells crossed her path. a loner, but no one she knew, and the blood of freshly-killed prey. and the coyote’s trail was right on top of it. fucking scavengers, she thought.

max lowered herself when she spotted the small creatures and wow, there were a lot more than she expected. they surrounded a beautiful stranger and drew closer with every passing moment. the yearling came flying out of her cover and grabbed one of the unwelcomed guests by its shoulder. she assumed the others would get spooked and run. some did, but others went to aid their friend by biting her rear. she released her grip to spin around and defend herself. green eyes caught onto the darker woman’s face. she needed a little help.
