It was stupid because Droman was sure that the older men wouldn't want to join in, and he definitely didn't want them to just watch. They probably thought that he was immature and childish, and he didn't blame them; it looked like he was using his time dilly-dallying instead of studying like a young man ought to do. The elders didn't understand that this was how he studied!; well, Dro didn't think that they did, at least.
