Blackfeather Woods does the lighthouse shine to seek, or to be found?

For a while, the blind mother is given company. The puppies are unaware of those around them, too bothered by the struggle to feed. The tension in the air makes it difficult but she eats as much as she can for as long as she can. Eventually, the new family is left alone through whatever struggles her mother faces. By the next morning, she is an only child, unaware of the world she’s been born into.
