Sleepy Fox Hollow inner moonlight

no scorn came; mona felt herself pale internally with relief. in the next blink, her keen gaze had followed the line of ginsberg's muzzle. and before she could answer that she had been eating rabbit almost exclusively for several days, and would certainly not mind the change, her dark companion set off at a gait that mona scrambled to match.
slim crimson legs sweeping her alongside ginsberg, mona marvelled in silence at the foliage turned autumn-red and rich still with a beauty that seemed ageless. perhaps it was her romantic heart, but too often she thought of what it would be like to be with someone in a place such as this. and with a start mona realized that such a person had no face any longer. for so long nathaniel had the one of whom she had thought, the little mayfair did not realize he had faded. 
ironic, backwards; mona tried to hide the visible and sudden tremble of her lips by ducking down her muzzle to scent the earth.
