Phoenix Maplewood oh she dreams

The wolf dodged her swipes. No matter, it was time to stop playing with her food anyways.
A snap and clash of jaws that made a stinging contact to her ear angered her -- prey wasn't supposed to fight back!
She released a bloodcurdling yowl and lept for the dark she-wolf, claws outstretched and jaws opening to reveal large, needle teeth.
Blood ran from her ear down the back of her head where it was ripped, the cold air making the wound sting.

Soon, hopefully, it would be over and she could paint the woods with its protector's blood.
Or so the cat thought.
Whether she hit or missed the succession of unsheathed blows on the wolf's body, she would run away. No point sticking around when the creature may still fight.
If she later found blood on her paws, she would return to finish the job.
