Summer felt like his heart was throbbing in his throat as he waited for Jace's response, which came in the form of an easy laugh and kind acceptance of the boy's terms. Not even an hour had gone by since he had broken down in the little den at the foot of the mountain, but already hope had replaced the weight of the hopelessness that crushed down upon him.
