"Rudy... you talked!" she would gasp in amazement. of course, flowers could talk. duh. she wasn't a racist. they were just veeeeeery selective of who they spoke to. she was currently on her back, rolling about the white flowers previously before the hello was given to her. but it wasn't Rudy who talked to her. it was a female. an older one by the tone. she had a fleeting image of her Ma before she rolled to the side and onto her stomach. looking up at the stranger with her mouth open, she didn't even flush with embarrassment.
