she had been brought here once before by Liri to meet her companions. Heloise had come back to check on the small band of wolves, knowing this was where the group was going to settle eventually. she did not expect to be met with the scent of a stranger. Siqsa and Sorin had been introduced to her previously; she did not know if the woman in charge had succeeded in recruiting more. her steps were slower due to her healing bruise on her shoulder, hidden beneath pale snowfall. there was not a distinct limb either.
if she was in pain, Heloise did not share it with the world. a small cut festered but had been cleaned the previous day. her spar with Derg had been enough to lit a bit of fire in her otherwise cold personality. she would ask Liri if she had seen a man about, the one Derg spoke of. surely it was best to warn the band before the shit hit the proverbial fan. steps took her forward until she was a few paces away from the stranger. she regarded him with a squinted look, finding no trace of the band's scent on him.
he hadn't done anything wrong; this land was not claimed. yet. he would look toward her, not quite seeing her standing there among the treeline. the woman stood straighter, though did not expect to catch his eye.
