Everything was different in this new place but that was to be expected when you enter a new land, as a child most would dream of a vast new world to explore. The icelandic healer was not one of those, she had wanted to remain in her home but sometimes life kicked you in the teeth. She could not be around them any longer, she could not see their happiness and the children they brought into the world when she wanted it to be her. The choice was made, her sister was the victor and she, well, she was the loser. She would be without the children she desperately wanted, she would be without the one she confessed her love to. Her childhood friend chose to be with the one she never thought she had to compete with when it came to this, leadership over their father's throne but not a girl.
A sigh escaped her lips as she moved further up the ridge, favoring the colder air above than below. Soon the summer seasons would come and her thicker coat would be an annoyance to her, a downfall to being raised inside caves made of ice.
In the early morning light the vale was a beautiful scene, dew touched and mist clung. Her nostrils flared as she took in the scents around her, paused fora soft moment when the smell of other canines registered but it was not a pack. Just a small gathering, possibly sleeping near by on their travels. maybe she would meet them while she was here? The thought had appeal to it but for now she lowered her lips to the gentle flowing stream to quench her thirst before she lowered her rather minuscule frame to the ground, again she sighed. A new place, a new beginning? That was the hope.
