Swiftcurrent Creek can't stop

a few weeks had passed now since he'd been in the pack and Benedict was keen to make some connections here. he had met Rosalie and Kavik, though both seemed too busy right now to be concerned with him. their scents were faded from the camp he was resting in. outside his chosen den, the man would lay his muzzle on his front legs and watch the stars above. it was a bit overcast and rain would be on the horizon soon. he suspected in a few hours.

the point was, it was night time. the camp was still and everyone was in bed. he had some trouble sleeping in a new place the past couple of days, so he was usually up. patroling or hunting. doing something productive. he was a bit bored now and didn't feel like sleeping. he'd kept well away from his alphas' den, mindful of their privacy and of their children. the kids were sleeping anyway. it wasn't like he was going to bug them.

movement caught his baby blues and his head would raise. he'd slowly get to all fours, asking quietly; "who's there?"
