his breathing was soft while he slept. even still, his youthful feet would twitch with delight at the dreams that played out within his mind. it was surprising for one who had never seen anything. his mind had created a world of wonder for the young boy to venture through. it was filled to the brim with gardens that boasted giant flowers, creatures that could only come from a newborn’s mind who roamed this world, and then all that existed beyond. in dreams, deku was happier than he had ever been.
 
when sleep faded from him, the small figure seemed to wiggle his way two inches from his mother’s warmth. the instant chill that he felt was astounding. he shuddered against it and released a quiet squeak that would have echoed if his ears were capable of picking up on sounds. everything was dark and quiet in that existence. everything was so different from the world inside his mind.
