Her tipped ears slipped back to catch the shriek of the brightly fire-skinned male. Heavens above! She had turned to see whether the assailant had gotten him to, but instead she saw him hiding within himself, seemingly like that of a turtle. However, just as fast as he had tucked himself inward, he was out, bounding beside her as a searching partner.

Had she been as her old self, she would have been humble, comforting even, as she would have tried to calm him down. However the disappearance of her leader has changed her, bringing long-instilled lessons of authority and how to carry herself in situations such as this. She would not back down from the challenge. “I have not. But we must be quick. Follow the blood and trail where it is most fresh.”

His offered assumption from a piece of his ramble made her pause to think- who would have motive to kidnap the Emperor? Killing him to upsurp him, but kidnap him? Who could kidnap such a massive wolf? Let alone one as cunning as Ford? There had been no ransom issued to them, and so far, no one laid claim as soon as Ford had disappeared-

“I would not think so- but will not be ruled out.” And whoever had done this would not be given a merciful death.

Not all birds have been taught to fly. Some simply fall until they either learn, or perish.
