Swiftcurrent Creek please say you love me · pack meeting

Finally the Swiftcurrent wolves were going to get some answers. Danica knew that Bazi was dealing with a lot but it did not make the wait any easier. It had seemed as if the entire Creek ground to a halt, milling about undecidedly while they waited for some sort of guidance. It hadn't been a bad time for such inactivity, though.

Danica's side pain had lessened considerably... then again, that had been the lesser of her wounds to begin with. Her leg still throbbed but she walked easier and the burning had eased to a more manageable level. It would still be some time before she was 100 percent but she could move about much more. Grudgingly she had to accept that Paarthurnax knew her stuff. She was a bit in her debt there.

The golden wolf was happy to see that Bazi looked much better, more sure of herself. Though that small voice in her head that refused to shut up wondered how much Scimitar had to do with the improvement. Forcing the ungrateful side down, she listened to the news. She had been looking forward to this.

It was a true relief to hear that Fox was not dead. Danica had enjoyed her company while she had ruled. Her agreement with Fox's actions showed her as well why she could never be an Alpha... if she was less inclined to disagreeableness she might have taken off with Fox in that fight. As it was, she knew others faulted the fiery ex-alpha for leaving two of her own in enemy territory. Seemed Fox agreed and had stepped down. She was a bit unhappy to hear about the Sunspire but accepted that as well. She would have liked a rematch with that Sunspire wolf, Amekaze, but would stay away if that was what was commanded. Perhaps one day they could meet on neutral ground. Danica held no grudge but the fight had been a good one. To test her skills again against such an opponent would be a fun challenge.

Scimitar's rise to Beta was hardly surprising, but again hot jealousy filled Danica. Struggling to keep her face composed as the disappointment filled her, she looked down at her paws. Did she want the rank? No. Did she see it, though, as confirmation that there was indeed a relationship between the two of them? Yes, that she did. Even her nomination as counselor did little to cheer her. She did give Bazi a small smile of acknowledgement, expression carefully veiled as emotions whirled inside. She had no one else to propose or she might have. She didn't know if she could bear playing second fiddle to Bazi and Scimitar currently.

One thing was for sure... now that things had been sorted, something had to give. If she didn't at least tell Bazi what was going on she was going to explode. And if she was asked to leave, so be it. It had happened before; it would happen again.
