He and his sister had been tasked with babysitting their younger siblings while Liffey and Rannoch took a trip to visit family. Breccan didn’t mind; he and Deshyr split the duties pretty evenly, and the puppies hadn’t given them too much trouble (I don’t think). He didn’t feel guilty asking @Deshyr to take charge for a little while when he decided to take a little venture outside of the hollow. Upon his departure, he promised to be back soon and that he would trade places with her and give her a break for a while.

He set out south, ranging into the windswept flatlands adjacent to the hollow. The plants were alive with vibrant colors and the warm spring sun smiled down from overhead. He followed one of the winding creeks for a short while, and paused to step into the water, letting it lap around his ankles.

Turning his face skyward, he watched as a lone bird circled high overhead, enjoying the peace and quiet and wondering how his parents’ excursion was going.
