Shadewood personal space invader

the noises that orochi was making caused immediate concern in the soft child. his expression of indignant outrage softened quickly to a look of concern. he lowered his head a little and leaned forward, blinking softly at the other pup. deku did not want to hurt orochi, but he most certainly did not want his paws to be chewed on. he had just started to feel a little better about standing and moving around on them. he had just started to shed some of the awkwardness that existed in his frame – those paws were beneficial to him.
 
“dat’s mine,” deku informed orochi with a soft voice and a small nod. that ought to have done the trick, right? the soft child waited to see if the other pup would respond in anything more than an aggressive garble of noises. his gentle blue gaze was glued tightly to the other boy. there was something terrifying about being so close to something that felt so… tender. deku was almost fearful, but only because he didn’t realize that he had been like that too, not long before that moment.
