Shadowwyn Moor Everything must go

The moor wasn't the best terrain for running; Breccan kept up a decent pace despite the sometimes-slippery surface, but he started to feel fatigued much sooner than he would have elsewhere. With Nuna breathing down his neck, though, he continued to run, his breath coming in short bursts of laughter as he looked back at her every few strides.

She was getting closer, and when there was a flash of her fangs he realized that she intended to tag him by applying her teeth to his tail. He tried to accelerate, but only ended up spinning his proverbial wheels in the mud -- he hit an especially slick patch and lost his balance, resulting in his front paws sliding beneath him as he pitched forward.

He landed face-first in a brackish puddle, and only had time to somersault over once before he found himself wondering if Nuna was going to fall right on top of him or if she would be lucky enough to avoid the collision.
