He had no issues with Cortez rising to lead, or Sunny taking up the mantle Lily had worn, or even honoring their lives with a special place to dedicate to them like Tzila suggested. To him, both Cortez and Sunny were respectable wolves, and ones he trusted enough to be good pack mates to, Silas offered no objections--only his silent support as all of their respective statements concluded.

Now if only the circumstances of their ascensions could be less hollow and painful, but this was how it was sometimes--life was cruel. The Ostrega knew to take it all with a thick skin, and to keep living for the next day.
