He inhaled and exhaled carefully, considering the fact that he hadn't been all that clear in his explanation and perhaps that was causing his mother's confusion.

"I want to -- to go," he elaborated. "Exploring on my own. I have friends I can meet up with -- Ibis and Nuna -- and I want to be independent for a while." He wasn't sure how to make it more plain, especially since he didn't actually have a plan in place. He would simply take to the wilds and roam freely, following no one's agenda but his own.
