The Heartwood this opportunity's mine

It seemed as though it were time to explore yet another new place. Life as a loner had been long and dramatic and the Hughes man grew quite wary of it. Upon first glance from somewhere high afar, he had spied Teekon Wilds with it's sprawling forests, fields and its high mountain chain. His interest was piqued. He had left a clear trail for Trigger to follow to the lands if he so chose(he certainly hoped his brother would join him here soon) and meandered into a pleasant, lush forest.
He had stopped by the lake for a drink on the way to the Heartwood. The name he didn't actually know as of yet but would hopefully soon... should he run into anyone while wandering aimlessly around. He then followed the river beyond the trees until he was buried deep toward the middle of the forest. His bright pink nose lead the way and took in all the new and fresh scents the woods had to offer.
It was relaxing here... it was much nicer then the arid Arizona desert he and Trig had been raised in. He liked green-- the color of life. The earthy hues were pleasant on his sharp eyes. The soothing sounds eased him into a more relaxed demeanor, causing his large ears to lazily tilt to the sides rather than forward.
So far, Leon was liking it here. One point on the list of reasons to stay so far.
