the greeting that is called behind her is one benefiting a packmate, and so the beast turns to face the woman with no trace of aggression. there is little need of it, mostly, for her size and bulk stop most fights before they can begin. until recent, the thick odour of smoke on her fur did that, too. 

she strides toward the woman, ears flicked forward and gaze sweeping her over once. she moves alongside her and presses her muzzle against the woman's hindquarters, taking in the woman's scent in a manner much more like the alpha she had been rather than the grunt she was now.
