"The height of the land, paired with the mountains at back, protects our pack from external threats. As long as we stand as one, our pack will be strong and we will have little to fear." For the first time she tasted a tang of hypocrisy in her words. She doubted Fox's motives, mistrusted Peregrine's judgment, and constantly wondered if her packmates were as loyal as they made themselves to be.
