Serem joined him in resting where they stood, and he didn't protest. The dim light faded as his eyes closed, and it was soon gone even from the insides of his lids. Though far from a creature deserving it, Black Hat fell into a restful, deep sleep. If anyone came across the pair lying together, it'd be clear as day what had transpired; but that didn't bother him one bit.
