She wasn't alone for long; Towhee arrived and settled by her side, without saying a word. Avery turned her head to glance up at the older female, reading Towhee's message in her silence, body language, and expression. Her knowledge of ptero might have still been rudimentary, but those particular gestures were not even necessary at the moment in order for her to communicate with her sister.

She leaned against Towhee and sighed, feeling words bubbling up inside of her. She kept her mouth closed, though, knowing that they would come out in a stuttering jumble -- and while she was used to that, she just didn't feel like dealing with it right now. Towhee understood; she didn't need to say anything. Still, she huffed again, sending a snowflake or two spiraling away from her cold breath.
