Beric was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable not being able to understand them, but he didn't let it show outwardly. He was glad to see Ragnar show up, until he started speaking the language, too. Beric almost wanted to storm off like a pup in a fit, but he stood fast, his ears swiveling to whichever wolf was speaking. Then, finally, Ragnar went back to English, which seemed to prompt Thistle Cloud to, as well.

It was beginning be obvious that he wasn't exactly needed here, but Beric stood his ground firmly. He didn't want to just walk off in the middle of the conversation and let Ragnar believe he wouldn't be a good Warden. Being here, even just for show, had to mean something.
