Okay, so she was a weirdo, but an approachable weirdo by the way the stranger just barely smiled at her. Alf could handle that, certainly.
"Hello, were you just wearing a nest on your head?" The male asked, and Alfhildr simply stared in response for a second. She couldn't exactly claim she wasn't, except for comedic effect.
"Well.. I think that's up to interpretation. It could have possibly been resting on my head of its own accord, and then decided to flee upon realizing you were there." She paused for a moment, her tail swaying good-naturedly behind her. Alf then offered the male a wide grin before saying, "Well yeah, 'course I was. Haven't you ever worn a nest hat before?" The woman trotted over to scoop the hat up again and balanced its inner edge on her nose. Then, with practiced skill, Alfhildr flipped it up onto her head as her ears fell back. "Ta-daah!" Alf exclaimed with a proud smirk. That must've been incredibly impressive. Or maybe just really childish and weird. Hopefully a bit of both.
Barreling over any response he might have intended on giving, Alf turned to him carefully so as to not dislodge her nest, and then proclaimed, "In fact, you, my good sir, appear to be in need of a dashing article of head wear. Perhaps you would like to take this beautiful hat off my paws for the price of some woefully boring conversation?" Okay, so maybe the female was laying it on a little thick. Alf had always been a creature born of fanfare and ridiculousness, though. No harm in making a stranger laugh and smile, especially if the she-wolf was liable to never meet him again. It's not like her joking around had any consequences; it was all just good-natured fun.
