She didn't need to know what he said anyways, it was not important. At least not now, and with her other beliefs, it would have taken ages and ages for her to get accepted, with a Nordic Pagan for an Alpha.
"You should be glad that you didn't join the Bay," he said softly in his accented voice. "You would never have been able to fit there, or gain Ragnar's respect." he didn't think it was a problem to say Ragnar's name now. After all, they were both loners now and he didn't need to respect Ragnar or anyone.
He raised his head from his third fish, his gaze cold even though a smirk covered his lips. "I suppose I should thank you for giving me the chance to realize that Stavanger Bay is not for me, even with an Alpha that shares the same beliefs and language, that is also a viking." he said in a cold tone. "But I will not, because you do not deserve a single word of thanks from me."
He did not forget or forgive easily for her disrespect. He flashed her another cold smirk as he continued with his meal.
