Sequoia Coast The Journey of the Lost

After downing a fish, Raven turn her gaze on him, listening to his language. He spoke it with his heart, his tongue only a vessel. She wondered if he prefered that language over english. After swallowing, and beginning on another fish, he spoke to her again, except she could understand him and his much softer words.

"You should be glad that you didn't join the Bay,"...
"You would never have been able to fit there, or gain Ragnar's respect."

When she looked up at him, he spoke again, but with a harsher tone, and she kept her mouth shut.
of course she wasnt expecting for his gratitude. She was not without intelligence. Raven turned her eyes back to her meal, and finished another fish. With that, her mind wandered over her newly aquired knowledge.
So the Alphas calling was Ragnar. He was of the vikings blood. He led a pack of ruthless wolves, who share his belief, she assumed. With that, Ragnar had no need for members who did not earn their way in, and by the words that this pale wolf has spoken to her, proves it. He told her she had to earn her keep. She understood that rule, for she planned to anyway. And with Ragnar one wolf short, and his swiftness to get rid of a loner, he was not in any hurry to replace them. But one day, she knew she would repay Ragnar with a visit, whether it be to try again, or to simply greet him. The second option shook her a bit, placing Raven back into the present again.

Suddenly, she remembered she did not ask the brute for his name.
