The dark wolf offered the littler one a smile and nudged her over toward a drier spot of ground, sheltered by a little overhang of bushes. They could all relax over there and answer as many questions as they wanted.

A smirk crossed the girl's face at the smaller one's evident swooning over the spotted boy. "Hey, whaddabout me?" she asked, playful, and moved to settle down by the roots of a tree beneath the shelter of the bushes. "I know the spots are cool and all, but I've got, like, the one," she teased, raising her paw to touch the white splotch on her chest.
