Quite the opposite, really, And for more than just her own selfish reasons, though admittedly those are at the forefront of the suggestion. If you put everything on hold for him, he may hold on to his trauma forever. Life goes on, and so must he. You've been an attentive and supportive father, and that is all you can do as his parent. He will find his own way, and perhaps one day it will lead away from you, but as long as you love and support him, he will always come back. I truly doubt he will leave you, though; you are a devoted father.
