For Summer!
He had caught whiff of them as he ventured deeper into the valley. Their scents were stale, but they had certainly traveled through that area at some point. Instinct to reunite with his pack mates and seek refuge with them fueled the male’s sense of urgency. Even though he wasn’t a very useful Consort to the Nereides, Homeros knew the loner life was not for him. He was not built strong or sturdily enough to maintain this lifestyle for much longer. The sooner he found the others, the better.
Homeros found himself surrounded by grand, high-reaching mountains that seemed to pierce the heavens themselves. With wide hazel eyes he gazed upon them, wondering what sort of creature it would take to scale those beasts and stand atop their pinnacles. Sunlight was waning, and although Homeros was inclined to head towards the mountains and study them further, he knew better than to strain his weary body any more than he already had that day.
He sought refuge within a vale of sorts. Shadowed by the mountains on every side, the territory instilled within Homeros a sense of security and calmness that he hadn’t experienced since beginning his journey. Ebon paws carried him slowly alongside a bubbling creek until eventually the dark wolf waded into the chilly water. Lowering his muzzle, he took a leisurely drink before lifting his eyes to survey his surroundings once more.
