He would have liked all of his children to bear his last name as a sign of their Roman heritage because as horrible as his father had been to him, he had seen the beauty of Rome and loved it with all his heart. But he knew he would have to compromise with Paar, but he vowed that his children would know and love to beauty of Rome.
