It had in fact been his kill, but he believed that sharing and allowing others to eat first was a strength and not a weakness. He noticed that the deep color of the blood did not stain her in the way it did him--there was a certain "wet" look to her, but the color red was lost in the blackness of her fur.

He offered a small smile at her agreement; it meant that she at least trusted him enough for now.
