There was a moment when the ruddy silver coywolf thought she would get away unscathed but it was short-lived. She could hear the beast's sounds of outrage followed by the heavy thump of its paws on the earth as it pursued her. Cthulhu dared not sneak a look over her thin shoulder as she darted through Ravensblood's undergrowth. To see Kierkegaard bearing down on her would have been too much for the thief.

Not seeing him didn't mean he wasn't closing in, a fact Cthulhu became painfully aware of when his teeth dug into her haunch. With a shrill yelp she threw the rabbit to the ground and hastened her steps, now concerned only with getting away. Her speed and stamina wouldn't last, but Cthulhu was spurred by fear for now. Should the beast continue his pursuit in hopes of beating her for her transgression, then Cthulhu would be forced into a more primal place. She knew she didn't want to be in that position so she ran harder.
