Falwasi remained lowered to the ground, golden eyes fixated on the wolf and the bear as she smelled Dovev coming. Her insides screamed to warn the ivory male of what he would be running into if he followed the two wolves' scent. The lithe wolf steeled herself and prayed Dovev had a sudden nasal failure and wouldn't smell them. This would be the absolute worst time for a chat, considering a bulky female bear was towering above her and this stranger, unaware of it.
She bit the inside of her lip as his scent became stronger, and soon she could hear the sound of his soft footsteps, followed by his large figure carefully positioning himself beside her. Falwasi glanced at him with her peripheral vision, willing him to stay quie- 'You gonna let her go? he mumbled. The she-wolf winced, her eyes burning into the bear waiting for it to realise that there were three wolves standing before her.
The unknown wolf turned to look back at Dovev, lip curled back, clearly annoyed. 'I have no quarrel with the bear.' he said with little patience. Falwasi held back the urge to growl. How dare he stride into their territory, walk in front of a bear and snap at her pack mate, making the situation even more vulnerable than it was before? Who did he think he was? She bared her teeth, fighting herself to stay quiet, to keep herself from engaging in hostilities.
It was too late to turn away from the bear, she was too close to not realise the wolves walk away, and the sudden movement would startle her. Their only option was to wait the bear out, distract her while one of the wolves turned from her or to attack her if she made the first move.
