The climb wasn't terrible, but Fox knew she would be giving her heart and lungs a run for their money if they ended up here. She was just thankful she didn't have a large, hulking form like Peregrine, to lug up the mountainside. When they reached the peak (or lack thereof), she decided it was worth it. It was a lake in the most peculiar place, and she realized now why the mountain was clipped on top. But it was the mini-mountain and the small island that were the real darlings. Up here, it was like they had their own little world all to themselves.

"Wow," she whispered, leaning against Peregrine for a moment as she soaked in the scenery before them. This would not be a one-season wonder like the aspen forest. This place had a year-round glory feel to it. "This place is pretty neat." That, of course, was putting it lightly. "It's a little world all on its own."
