Had his heart not been so enthralled still by the ivory creature that had recently abandoned him, Scimitar’s eyes might have wandered over the lovely curves of the honeyed woman before him. The light played upon her pelt, casting her in a warm glow that rivaled the darker cinnamons of his own pelt. She looked over him intently – attention that might have stirred discomfort in him before, but now only intrigue settled upon his features when her eyes fell upon the scar of his shoulder.

Falwasi, he was beginning to notice, did not hold back on her curiosity. The question was posed, and he glanced down to the shoulder as well, studying it thoughtfully. “It was a token from the Beta male of The Sunspire pack. He came to our borders and was in a rampage and swearing at Bazi about recent events that had transpired between the two packs. I told him to desist his treatment of her in that manner.. he didn’t listen. He told me he’d rather rip my face off and feed it to me.” There was a small pause, his lips twitching in a wry smile. “So I showed him I meant business. As you can see, my face is still here.”

There was a level of pride in his tone now – not one that spoke of a cocky victory, but one that reveled in the familiar sense of battle. Tuwawi and frowned at his rash actions in the past.. but to Scimitar, he would do anything to protect this pack – if that meant a fight, so be it.
