Shadow did not seem to welcome her touch, which made the crimson sandflower wish to retreat into her shell. She pressed her tall ears back and whined softly, though her heart kick-started once again when her partner turned toward her once more to plant upon her muzzle an enthusiastic kiss. Happiness flooded into her features once more and with a brief grin, Paarthurnax strode forward to tuck her crown beneath her mate's chin until she was snug against his throat.

"With a pelt like this," she crooned, tugging affectionately at a tuft of pale silver fur directly before her snout, "you could not have been too cold, at least."

Her tail did not cease it's wagging, and she did not move from his embrace. "And I, you," was the response she gave following the announcement that he'd missed her, and she meant it. The time alone was good for her, time that she could use to reflect on how things were and how things could've been, and she had come to realise just how lucky she was.
