Two Rivers Isle With a scream

Ever since their ears had opened, Ines wished she could make them go shut again. But unlike her eyes she couldn’t close them when she wanted to, and batting them with her paws did very little to stifle any of the noise her loud sister got into the habit of making.

Especially today. Ines didn’t even try to block her ears from the noise as Ever ripped past her and barrelled from the den. The distance did nothing to dampen the screams. Seemed her cat nap was over.

Ines sighed.

Well, if you couldn’t beat ‘em, might as well join em.

The little girl tottered to her paws and dashed after Ever with a scream of her own. Who knows what had even made her sister start — and who cared? Once she was out of the den she would howl and aim herself at Ever in a clumsy launch to tackle her down. Ever had already just fallen flat in her face. It was truly just the perfect time.
