Verdigris Ravine down by the river

Candle sat by S'ari, ever diligent. She knew that she was unwell, that she would not understand what Candle meant to tell her even if she had been. As far as she knew, S'ari had not learned Zoug's language as she had. But she told her nonetheless.

Children soon, She told her. Zoug. Her ears turned warm with the acknowledgement. And you. Candle hoped, at least, that S'ari would be by her side in this. But even if she did not want to be involved, the priestess knew that she had Zoug. That was enough.

She felt hopeful for their future.
