The butterfly, with the soft scales, fluttering in the wood. Still pudgy Cardinal, tripping and stumbling after it. It led her out and away from the den, back towards its back. She reached a clumsy paw towards it, but only succeeded in falling over herself.
When she opened her eyes, on the ground, the butterfly was gone, and she was alone. Unable to recognize the landmarks around her yet, the little girl sat on her haunches and wailed a cry.
