Jace was not a petty being and usually he took criticism easily enough. There were times where he didn't deserve it and he usually would get upset then, but for the most part he was okay with different things. He fought hard to be an easy going male, for the simple fact that his temper was hair trigger and he did not wish to cause problems.

Jace finally had enough and a small growl worked it's way up from his throat, merely a warning. I misspoke clearly, and I apologize but you do need to mind your tone please. You may not like what i say or how i say it, but respect should be given where respect is due. What I meant was that I shouldn't have said anything, not that I shouldn't have to say anything. And did I say in anyway that you were a child Sumayl? I think not.

Jace was irritated at this point, he hadn't meant for his words to come off as they did and the upstart in front of him had taken them out of complete context. This was why he hated talking to others, gods why did he even say anything. He should have just stayed away from Sumayl all together.
