Luhtar huffed lightly, her remark drawing a faint twitch of his tail as he leaned back against the log, basking in the cool of the moonlight.

“Pride, huh?” Luhtar echoed, giving the woman a amused look. “Maybe. It’s good insulation.” His lips quirked into a faint smirk, his stained teeth just barely visible from beneath his curling lips.

Her own admission stirred something faint in him. He could empathize with that reluctance. Ever since Sivahild... a grim shadow torched his gaze, just for a moment, and he shook his head to rid himself of the sudden brooding that grappled him.

“Think that makes us stick out around here.” he mused, ears flicking in thought. His thoughts drifted briefly to the fast love that Solharr and Callyope had found. Not all of them could be so lucky.

“Not that I’m complaining. Makes things... simpler.”
