Hideaway Strath in death's shadow

Her bodily functions betraying her, Mictec gave a soft nod. She would have hated to admit when another was right but in this instance, she was already walking the fine line between life and death. She rose up from her seated position, sheer willpower being the only source of energy. Pressure and pain were quick to settle in and the limp becoming more pronounced. But she was one to refuse to show weaknesses and instead spoke through gritted teeth, "Lead the way chamaco." Their playful banter reminded her of more simple times of youth before they begun to fear her.

Since she was in no state to defend herself, she had to trust that this stranger had better intentions then others who have crossed her path. But that did not stop her from walking by his side, wincing softly with her limp.

Mictec had to admit, he was even taller now that the distance between them was smaller. She could feel the heat radiating off of him that offered a sense of comfort, meaning he had adjusted quite well though carrying a tongue of lands familiar. Curiosity peaked her, how did he end up so far away as well? She tried to keep her expressions neutral but could not deny that like her, he harbored something dark.

"I keep calling you stranger in my head but I assume that is not your name. So what do they call you?"
