The arrogant man had withdrawn, standing a few meters from the scene, silently guarding his lord’s back, his white enamel blades poised to be drawn at the slightest provocation. He stood rigid, head bowed, his gaze locked onto the fallen lord. His features were taut, his tongue slack, hanging like that of a hound whose mounting frustration coiled like a knot in his gut.
