Mara's eyes turned dark at the mention of Cara, even though it was meant to be a joke. To far, buddy, to far. Her silver eyes narrowed as she glared at him. "Ha ha, very funny." she retorted, not wanting to discuss Cara, even though she knew she would have to explain at some point or another. She just didn't expect him to ask her right them.
"From what I've seen, the gorge has no places to store herbs, store food, or even sleep!" she exclaimed, listing off the number of problems she had encountered. If she didn't find a way to fix them soon, then she was afraid they would have to abandon the gorge. And if they abandoned the gorge, then they would probably disband, and if they disbanded, then there was no way to take Cara down. And she couldn't let that happen.
The list seemed to grow in her mind, fueling her anger until her silver eyes turned into a ranging storm of grey. It was all her fault, that stupid bitch. Ever since she was little, Mara had been very blunt. Usually it was in a more happy, giggly way. But now she found herself saying rude things and just being a bitch in general.
Taking deep breaths, she calmed herself and met his eye again, her own clear and uninhabited by any emotions. She knew she would have to explain her plan sooner or later, it just looked like it would be sooner.
"What you need to know at the moment is that the spine is not to be trusted and any spine wolves you see lurking around need to be dealt with." she said calmly, not giving any information that wasn't necessary. She had found it easier to keep things on a need to know basis when it came to the spine.
