The Heartwood I whistle a happy tune

Where did all the fireflies go? Ivev could remember the flitting little lightbugs in the midsummer, where the nights were humid and warm, slowly cooling with a pleasant whiff of air. But just like during the day, winter had seemingly stolen the golden bugs from the air and replaces them with an atmosphere that seemed to nip at the female's heels. With her present wounds, it was making it even harder to continue about her duties, for Ivev was left with a permanent limp.

Although her movements were beginning to smooth out, Ivev still stopped, limped, and painstakingly meandered her way through the landscape. Every time she put her back right leg in full contact with the ground, Ivev's jaw gritted against her molars, sucking in the air and making her throat burn with the feel of icy cold. But as her tail swung limply behind her, the arcticborn's opal eyes were trained straightforward. She was determined to familiarize herself with the land, and seek out some medication for the wound her leg.

Ivev held no problem with making noise whilst moving through the wood. With small paws, Ivev had a certain grace to her, but her injuries didn't allow her to afford moving quietly. It was between the trees her ears picked up a sound and the healer came to a stop, biting her lip. She was vulnerable while going on outing alone, and hopefully the slight timber figure that appeared before her would be no enemy. She had made enough of those.
