Her strength was flagging, her situation desperate. She had scavenged some, but not enough, and it was with dogged determination that she walked now. She did not know what had become of the other dogs, nor had she the energy to care.
Passing through, she did not know of the presence of any around her. She traveled without much regard, and thus completely missed the wolf who basked nearby.
