The wolves came out to greet him faster than the turn up of his comrades. A sneer perched itself across his scarred muzzle as the larger beasts came to investigate, but Twister was keen to make good on the fact that he stood outside of their proverbial front door. He had learned from their mistakes at the other mountain pack.

In the end, the dogs were once again outnumbered for the time being. Things were a bit more even in his thoughts though, because he hoped this forming pack was disorganized. He hoped they were lame, weakened from their efforts. The malinois did not know what it took to make a pack, but he knew of the tribulations and trials their ragtag team had already been through.

He wanted to draw those wolves out across their petty line, and offered them a harsh, guttural growl from the depths of his battered body. If one of his compatriots went off like a loose cannon, they'd have no option but to attack. But he wanted time — time enough to find which of them was lamest. Forget taking a leader, he wanted to inflict a little mayhem.
