There was no way to have known that Dante and Valtyr's thought traveled the same path, but as the Alpha traversed his territory (much more carefully today), he too recollected back to the previous day. A large part of him regretted how he'd handled it, but he knew he was incapable of doing anything differently.

Seeing Valtyr, Dante remembered that the boy had been present. It had been a while since he'd spoken with him, and now seemed as good a time as any to check in. "Hey Val!" he greeted him, trotting up. He hoped he wouldn't mind the shortening. "How're things?"
