The girl glanced briefly in the direction he motioned, but inevitably returned her gaze to the water's edge - and to himself as well. The mention of a cat didn't really ruffle her feathers, although knowing that something was hiding out and watching her was... A little unsettling.

His comment about running made her shrug, stepping back from the embankment so she could direct her full attention to his roguish self. I wasn't really running from anything, or to anything. I just felt like.. Stretching my legs, I suppose. Her tone was light and her expression was bland, for the conversation with this stranger was boring her.

And what of you? Do you wander the wilds in order to save damsels from wandering cats, or some other, less noble reason? A smirk spread across her face at this comment, despite it not being very clever. Maybe this guy was in cahoots with the cat in question (if there really was a cat, she had yet to see one).
